Wacherna was born from a simple idea: What if clothing could carry emotions? Not just fashion, Not just trends, but memories, Cultures, Passions. Moments that make us feel alive.
Every design is part of a themed capsule, built around stories, symbols, traditions and the energy that unites people across borders.
Inspired by celebrations around the world, and the vibrant spirit of the Guacherna parade in Barranquilla, Colombia, Wacherna creates collections designed to celebrate identity and human connection.
The Wacherna name
The name Wacherna is inspired by La Guacherna, one of the most beloved traditions of the Barranquilla Carnival in Colombia.
More than a parade, La Guacherna began as a way for neighbors to find one another. In the early 20th century, when the workday ended and night fell over Barrio Abajo, local residents would play the guache, a traditional percussion instrument, to call friends and neighbors into the streets. It was an invitation to gather, dance, celebrate, and prepare for the Carnival together.
That idea resonates deeply with us.
Wacherna is our modern version of that call. A call to celebrate identity. A call to share joy. A call to connect through the passions that unite us.
How Our Designs Are Created
Many concepts start as sketches on paper, notes from a football match, memories from a trip, cultural symbols, or conversations about identity and belonging.
From there, designs are developed using traditional creative tools such as Krita and Affinity Designer, alongside modern AI image generators.
We won't lie to you, AI helps us explore visual possibilities and refine artwork, but the stories, concepts, artistic direction, and final selections are human decisions.
For us, technology is not a replacement for creativity.
